My real name is Blaz Grgic. I was born in Bosnia, on 15. November 1990., 2 years before the war started there. I lived with my grandmother, while my parents were in Switzerland. When the war begun, my grandma took me, some food and some dipers leaving everything else behind. We went to Croatia and lived with some relatives for a short time. After that, we went to Switzerland as refugees and lived there till the war was over. My parents saved some money and bought a house in Croatia. Until today, my soul is torn appart between that house and my old house in Bosnia. The life standard here is riddiculous. I didnt even use internet until a few months ago, and I'm almost 20 now. Anyway, house we bought in Croatia is located in a street behind a graveyard. There, I established a small home music studio and I gave it a symbolic name Aftalyfe.Music is a key element in my life. When I lost everything, music was my drug. It made me forget all the bad things that were happening. It made me think. I listened to everything I could get my hands on, until I discovered hip-hop. At that point, pieces of a puzzle were finally coming together, I knew that anything I do in the future will have to be something regarding music and hip-hop. So I listened... Though, at that point, I didn¥t understand almost anything, but the melodies, snares and baselines captured my spirit. Later on, I tried writing my own lyrics, but that didn¥t went as well as I expected. Anyway, I didn¥t lose hope. I saw these other local rappers making fun of hip-hop, but to me this kind of music was more than just street music.I could sense some greatness in hip-hop music, but for me it was still not perfect. That¥s why I started to listen to artists like Linkin Park, Pink and later Timbaland and Lil Wayne who kind of made a fusion of different styles and ways in music. That inspired me to experiment. I found the element that I was looking for in orchestral and movie music (Eminems track Lose Yourself was one of my favourite tracks and my orientation point).But this is just the beginning! I plan to reach the ultimate goal, to create a perfect track, which cannot be labeled by any genre or type, a track which would take the essence of every genre out there and then put it together to create the essence of music. It doesnt matter what style of music we¥re into, because the music is our main connection. I believe it defines our character. I believe the music makes us humans.I know that some people might think that I'm a freak or something, but I want to dedicate every second of my life to music, cause I believe that this is my purpose.Aftalyfe.
